Three Rivers Ambulance Authority integrates PulsePoint AED to Build and Manage Public Defibrillator Registry
Fort Wayne, IN (August 10, 2026) Three Rivers Ambulance Authority (TRAA) is proud to launch PulsePoint, a community initiative designed to connect bystanders, 9-1-1 telecommunicators, and lifesaving equipment before first responders arrive.
Every year, thousands of people experience sudden cardiac arrest outside of a hospital. In those moments, survival depends on one thing: how quickly someone nearby acts. PulsePoint AED allows users to register publicly available Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), which can be located on a map in the mobile app for quick access during a cardiac emergency. These locations are integrated into TRAA’s CAD system and encourage community response through alerts from the app. When a cardiac emergency strikes, finding an AED can help save a life. Early application of bystander CPR and rapid defibrillation from an AED have proven to be crucial in improving a person’s chance of surviving sudden cardiac arrest.
To launch this initiative TRAA is hosting a live event at Parkview Field on August 11th at 930am. The event will begin with a press release outlining the Pulsepoint launch, immediately followed by TRAA’s certified instructors leading community participants through Hands-Only CPR training. This training will give participants the confidence and skills to recognize cardiac arrest and begin lifesaving CPR until professional help arrives.
Following the Hands-Only CPR training, TRAA will conclude the event with a mock 9-1-1 cardiac arrest demonstration. This live demonstration will walk attendees through the entire emergency response, from the moment someone dials 9-1-1 through Emergency Medical Dispatch, and demonstrate how PulsePoint Respond alerts nearby trained citizens who can begin lifesaving care before first responders arrive.
Launching this initiative has the potential to improve cardiac arrest survival throughout the City of Fort Wayne by connecting our community with lifesaving education, technology, and action. For more information or to register please visit www.traa-ems.com
